Myo-fascial decompression
For thousands of years many cultures have used Cupping therapy to treat tight muscles, improve circulation and detoxify local tissues from over work, stress, injury, and infection, this simple technique to still proves be an extremely effective tool with even the highest level athletes in proffessional sport using it.
Cupping has seen a re-discovery with many proffessional and Olympic athletes athletes sporting the temperory bruises that cups can leave behind, many chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and acupuncturists, use cupping in their treatments.
Cups work from the suction created inside the cup, this stretches apart tight fascia, tendons and muscles, the negative vacume created also draws blood and lymph through the tissues, flushing out trapped expired red blood cells and metabolic wastes like lactic acid, damaged tissue fibers and expired red blood cells trapped in tight tissues.
Larger toxins flushed out of the tissues and jionts are filtered by the skin leaving a brown mark or “bruise,” these visible toxins are eaten up by the bodies immune cells and fades within 1 to 7 days. The "bruise" is not sore to touch and not all indivduals will bruise, most people feel immediate improvement of pain and tension in the area cupped.
Acupuncture Clermont uses sterilized medical-grade plastic cups with a hand pump to withdraw air to create precise suction, they are not retained longer than 5 minutes and should always be comfortable.
We do not use "Fire Cupping" because of the safety risks to patient.
